Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might appear unsuited, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death initiated the story’s plot—used the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as key figures in House Halovar could assist the group reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of Casimir.
