It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the chance.

In the end, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to produce her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her bow and seven global championships have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

Whether this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Certain people claim the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing completely," stated Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts activate and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was in motion.

"The possibility to go out there and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was out the team needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we believe we can succeed."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

During the last week a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this success following victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wished she had played through the pain.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is likely to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as skipper.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
